This “Seychelles Electronic Border System” has been developed in order to provide information that relates specifically to the “Travel Authorisation” application that you are currently completing. It is designed to assist and inform you of the measures that have been put into place to protect your personal data as you plan for your upcoming visit to the Seychelles. This web site is operated on behalf of the Seychelles Government by seychelles travel pty Ltd Border Security SA (“seychelles travel pty Ltd”), a Swiss Company, which employs technology to prevent unauthorised access to the information you enter and view. This web site is operated by the Seychelles Government under the Data Protection Act (CAP 57) to insure the privacy of your personal data. The Seychelles Government is the data controller whereas seychelles travel pty Ltd Border Security SA is the data processor.

The Seychelles Government (data controller) ensures that there are procedures in place that allow the travellers to exercise their rights. All rights of the traveller will be carried out without charge for the subjects.

Collecting information
The collection of information is authorised under the Public Health Act. When you apply for a Travel Authorisation, the information you provide is used to determine your identity, your eligibility to travel based on government-defined health and security criteria and to contact you if a close contact to a COVID-19 infected person is suspected. Only the personal data necessary to process your application are requested, collected, and processed. The supply of your information is voluntary, however if you do not supply the requested information, the travel authorisation application will be rejected, and you will not be allowed to board the aircraft or vessel.

Use of Information
The information you provide will be exclusively used to process your application for a Travel Authorisation (TA) in conformity with Seychelles’ public health initiatives designed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. A valid TA is mandatory for all passengers seeking to travel to Seychelles while mitigating the spread of COVID-19 and preventing other security risks.

Sharing Information
Except as explained below, the information collected by and maintained in the Travel Authorisation System in conjunction with the submission of your application for a Travel Authorisation will not be disclosed to any third party in a form that identifies the traveller, except to other components of Seychelles Government Systems legally authorised to receive it, and then only on a need-to-know basis. Your personal information is not shared with airport or airline staff; the check-in agent only sees those portions of the Travel Authorisation issued by The Republic of Seychelles.

Please note that if in conjunction with the submission of your application for Travel Authorisation, you utilise The Seychelles Electronic Border System Website to purchase services or to solicit offers provided by a third party, you authorise the Government of the Seychelles, and its agents, to transmit the required personal information to the third party involved in order to facilitate the purchase, provision and performance of the service or the provision of offers you elect to receive from the third party in question.

In particular if you elect to purchase SIM or mobile phone services or data from a mobile operator, you expressly agree that, as required by Seychelles communication laws, the following personal data will be disclosed to the mobile operator at the time of purchase for the purpose of preparing the delivery of the service : your full name, your date of birth, your identity document number, your planned and actual arrival flight number and date, and a copy of your identity document information page.

Storage of Information
Any information collected from you and processed by the Government of the Seychelles and the processors it engages is protected in accordance with Seychelles and any applicable law. Information submitted by applicants through the TA Web site or mobile App is subject to the same strict privacy provisions and controls that have been established for similar traveller‘s screening programs by other countries.

The Seychelles Government keeps a record of the travellers’ data in accordance with its laws. All collected data is stored in a secure manner and no longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was processed. Furthermore, your personal data is stored in accordance with the retention period imposed by current regulations. This retention period depends on the purpose for which the data is being processed and takes into account regulations which impose a specific retention period for certain categories of data.

Safety of Credit Card Information
The TA system does not retain your credit or debit card information after the transaction is processed. The payment solution is fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), which is the global security standard for all entities that store, process, or transmit cardholder data and/or sensitive authentication data. PCI DSS sets a baseline level of protection for consumers and helps reduce fraud and data breaches across the entire payment ecosystem.

Access to Your Personal Data
You have the right to access the personal data information about you within the TA system. You have a right to learn the nature and scope of all your personal data held within the TA system. To access this data, please contact the Department of Health at

Cancel Your TA Application or Correct/Update Your Personal Data
Once you have submitted your TA application, you cannot edit, update, or delete the data contained therein. The reason for this prohibition is to provide such data to competent, legally authorised Seychelles governmental agencies to perform necessary police and border protection activities. If you need to edit or modify submitted data, you will need to resubmit a new application and to pay a new application fee. It is therefore important to ensure the correctness of all data before its submission.

Rejection of Your TA Application
If your TA application is denied, you will not be authorised to travel to Seychelles. Please contact Seychelles’ Health Department to report your situation and obtain further details.

Changes to our Private Policy
This privacy policy will be reviewed and updated continuously to ensure consistency with the legislation and established practices around data privacy.
